Where shall
we go for some good bites? This is the question that often popped up whenever
we are in the midst of deciding where to hangout with friends or family. Well,
last Sunday I found Bites Café at Lake Fields in Sungai Besi area. Good coffee,
food, ambience and companions what more can I asked for a Sunday lunch and
hangout.
Most of
the food menus at Bites Café are fit for all day dining. I can have their Early
Bites (breakfast) for lunch, tea break or even dinner. Their food name is very easy
to remember whereby it is related to the dish itself. Let’s begin our Sunday indulgence…
Fresh Watermelon & Celery Juice, RM8.90 |
Fresh Watermelon
& Celery Juice, RM8.90
That
day was sunny and hot so I decide to cool down my body with this fresh
watermelon & celery juice. Ooo… soothing.
Hazelnut Latte, RM8.90 |
Hazelnut
Latte, RM8.90
You can’t
go wrong with the coffee here, rich aroma, kicking caffeine and creamy milk.
That is the way I savor my cuppa.
It’s A Wrap, RM14.90 |
It’s A
Wrap, RM14.90
Originally
on the menu is the vegetarian wrap in salad and avocado in special orange &
berries dressing, but that day Robin was in good mood he added smoked salmon in
the wrap. Taste the crisp salad, light dressing and the fresh smoke salmon. It
is a healthy starters or snack. The wrap goes well with fresh fruit juice.
The French, RM15.90 |
The
French, RM15.90
It’s a
French toast with chicken ham, melted cheese, maple syrup & topped with
sunny side up. I like the chicken ham and the combination of toast with egg and
maple syrup.
Eggs Benedict, RM17.90 |
Eggs
Benedict, RM17.90
You can
choose either smoked salmon or beef bacon with sautéed spinach, mushrooms, hollandaise
sauce, toast and salad. Yuhuu, we decide to go for smoke salmon. Look Bites’s
smoke salmon is unlike the ordinary smoked salmon, there is thicker, chunkier
and definitely fresh. Thanks for the generous portion and ingredients.
The Swiss, RM14.90 |
The
Swiss, RM14.90
Eat
like a Swiss; so we have potato rosti, smoked salmon or beef bacon with scramble
eggs and sour cream. Potato rosti with sour cream ahh… best combination.
Breakfast Pizza, RM13.90 |
Breakfast
Pizza, RM13.90
Beef
Bacon, egg, baby spinach, mushroom and cheese. How many of you would like to
have pizza for breakfast? It not weird, it’s a norm for some. This breakfast
pizza size is just right to share for 2 or if you are big eater you can finish
the whole pizza by yourself. The pizza is very light and I live the sunny side
up.
Beef Bacon & Shrimp Pasta, RM24.90 |
Beef
Bacon & Shrimp Pasta, RM24.90
Quite a
huge portion and also fair bit of beef bacon and garlic bread; sorry I can’t
describe much because I can’t eat beef.
Creamy Mushroom Pasta with Chicken, RM22.90 |
Creamy
Mushroom Pasta with Chicken, RM22.90
The sauce
is really creamy, rich and thick with lots of cheese. If you are craving for
carbonara pasta this is the one for you. There are quite big pieces of grilled chicken
breast and garlic bread.
The Italian, RM14.90 |
The
Italian, RM14.90
When
was the last time you had frittata? The Italian is breakfast frittata with
turkey ham, onions, spinach, cherry tomatoes and eggs. It’s simple yet
delicious to eat just by itself.
Club Sandwich Waffle, RM12.90 |
Club
Sandwich Waffle, RM12.90
Bread
is too mainstream, what not have Waffle Sandwich instead. You can choose beef
bacon or ham that comes with eggs, lettuce, cheese, tartar sauce and salad. I
think for the price this is real value for money and filling. According to
Robin, Bites Waffle is without vanilla essence and only contain minimum sugar.
Grill Chicken & Waffle Sandwich, RM15.90 |
Grill
Chicken & Waffle Sandwich, RM15.90
Must
Try! I will go back to Bites for this. Grilled chicken with sautéed mushroom, sunny
side up, melted cheese, mushroom sauce, salad and of course hot fresh waffle to
die for hehehee… with all these for RM15.90 real deal.
Affogato with Crushed Cranberry Almond Biscotti with Pandan Kaya Ice Cream, RM9.90 |
Affogato
with Crushed Cranberry Almond Biscotti with Pandan Kaya Ice Cream, RM9.90
This
dessert name seems so long but actually is very simple. The Pandan Kaya Ice
Cream is from The Last Polka, need not to explain more. For those who has tried
the The Last Polka ice cream you will know that they are famous for their rare
taste of good ice cream. The combination is somehow weird for me, but for the
first trial I like it the bitterness of aromatic Affogato dashed in the Pandan
Kaya ice cream and bites of crunchy biscotti.
Waffle Topped with Gula Melaka Ice Cream, RM11.90 |
Waffle
Topped with Gula Melaka Ice Cream, RM11.90
Yezzzah!
I love this, the fuffly waffle with the strong and rich flavour Gula Melaka ice
cream oh mine… can’t tell you how I feel at that moment. You must try la. This
is one of Bites Café best seller dessert.

Mr & Mrs Robin Lim, the founder & owner of Bites Cafe, Lake Fields |
This is
the couple behind the Bites Café at Lake Fields, Mr & Mrs Robin Lim spent
quite some time putting up all the decors and their personal touch in this café.
According to Robin their food contains no msg and the taste is very mild to
cater for those healthy diners. I like
the photo wall which is very retro and also flood with words of wisdom and
meaningful quotes. At the far end of the café there is a little corner with
bears for is to rest of take pictures.
