The 3rd Golden Awards ended on a high note last night at Putrajaya
International Convention Centre (PICC), bringing together entertainment
industry luminaries from home and abroad for the most prestigious Chinese TV
awards show in the country. The Descendant sweeps a total of 8 awards.

The
three-hour show which was broadcasted live from PICC saw a full-house
attendance of 3,500 live audiences and attended by over 100 star-studded
artistes from home and abroad. The biennial awards also received similar feat
across other platforms, with its Global Live Streaming reaching 65,000 views
worldwide, an increase of 144% from 2012.
According
to a report published by Nielsen Media Research, the award ceremony which was
broadcasted from 8.30pm – 11.30pm on ntv7 garnered over 1.2mil viewership with
a whopping 46% Chinese audience share for both its LIVE show and Red Carpet,
making it the No.1 most-watched primetime Chinese programme on that night
across networks.

award ceremony which seeks to recognise and honour the outstanding works of
those who have contributed passionately in the Malaysian Chinese TV industry,
saw period drama “The Descendant” bagging the most awards last night with a
total of 8 awards including Best Drama, Best Director, Best Original
Screenplay, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Newcomer, and
Best Drama Theme Song.
