Last
week while having coffee with my girlfriends at one of the cozy café, we over
heard the lady that sat next to our table discuss about this topic hmmm… Well,
I believe not many Asian would be so open to talk about Premature Ejaculation (PE) problems especially guys because it is a
very sensitive topic. I get to know about PE during my biology class in high
school years back.
Well, I
decided to Be Brave and discuss something
more intimate issues… something that a lot of couples suffer in silent and so called
The Bedroom Problem. Initially I feel a bit shy and uneasy to discuss about
this topic too. However, I’m going to make it as casual and as simple as
possible to share some information to you all. Have you ever heard of the
condition, premature ejaculation
(PE)?
Premature ejaculation problems either it could be a temporary and can resolve by themselves without too much trouble. But some can be more serious and have a long-term, damaging effect on relationships. Recently, I received some information about PE and found out that while male impotence (or erectile dysfunction) is the more discussed topic, the “other” problem, PE is actually more common, affecting up to 1 in 3 men across Asia Pacific.

So what is PE? This
bedroom problem happens when a man experiences lack of control over ejaculation
such that it happens sooner than a man or his partner would want, and causing
distress for either one of them. To maintain a healthy relationship,
satisfaction is quite important – so a condition like PE can indeed affect
relationships and sometimes end up in separation!
Not only that! For
both men and their partners, coping with PE is both emotional and physical – so
it is better to approach this together as a couple. PE may be associated with
low self-confidence, anxiety, feelings of shame and avoidance of sexual
intimacy. I heard that PE can happen to men at any point in their maturity.
So to prevent such distress, it is important that men
determine if they have this condition or should they suspect they may have PE.
Guys,
if you are suffering from PE that is not the end of the world you can seek
help. And gals if your man has this condition, I hope that both of you could
break the stigma and be open to discuss and get help. A. Menarini (Malaysia) recently launched the digital and on-ground BE BRAVE campaign to create awareness
among couples that PE is a treatable condition.
Created to lift the fog and stigma that surrounds the subject
matter, the campaign brings people to BE BRAVE and break free from the silence
and focus on what is more important – the solution. Finally, a campaign which
reaches out to PE patients!
And how does this campaign do it you may ask?
As part of the campaign, an online quiz was designed to lessen the taboo surrounding PE by letting players go on a fun journey to find
out who their “inner hero” is. Subsequently, players will be motivated to seek
more info about PE.
BE BRAVE Quiz
Find Out Your Inner Hero
the digital journey to healing
Let’s
check out the BE BRAVE online quiz at www.bebrave.my to find out which inner
hero are you? Men can find out who their “inner hero” is, while the women can
find out which “inner hero” fits their man just by answering several fun
questions (no explicit content).
Get
started and ready for the quiz. I like the design and layout plus the questions
are quite fun and witty. Overall the quiz is quite entertaining and engaging, a
good way to ease the tension associated with PE. There are two quizzes which
you can take. One is actually designed for men and the other for women. Of
course, I took the female quiz.
My BE
BRAVE quiz result – wow my partner is an Enchanted Knight ehemm… Well, I was
pretty pleased with this result because I thought the description was really
similar to CH’s personality traits. I am going to have to him to play the quiz.
*Fingers crossed* hope he gets Enchanted
Knight too hehehe…
Oh yes…
I have shared it on my facebook and you must try out the quiz too; it is accessible
through www.bebrave.my and the Be Brave MY Facebook page www.facebook.com/BeBraveMY
Do try
it out and share with your friends and family! Don’t forget to click on www.controlpe.com.my to learn more about this health condition. This website is the
only credible online resource that contains comprehensive information about the
condition, a diagnostic tool and suitable treatments available.
”If you
suspect you may have the condition, you can take the Premature Ejaculation Diagnostic Tool (PEDT Quiz). This will help you decide whether you need to see a
doctor for a diagnosis and effective treatment.” In the website, there’s also a useful clinic locator
where you can find your nearest physician.
