Time
flies huh… I still remembered the launched of Tokyo Street @ Pavilion KualaLumpur back in 2011. As you search through my blog you will be able to find TokyoStreet 1st Anniversary and also their 2nd Anniversary Bash. And yesterday, we witness Tokyo Street 3rd
Anniversary Sweetest Celebration at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Level 6. The precinct was decked with colourful
pop-up cakes for 3 days.
The
joyous occasion kicked off with the arrival of Guests of Honour, His Excellency
Dr Makio Miyagawa, Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia and Joyce Yap, CEO of
Retail, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, followed by an astounding traditional Japanese
Wadaiko Drum performance.
Kagami Biraki, Sake barrel breaking ceremony |
To
officiate the ceremony, Joyce Yap and His Excellency Dr Makio Miyagawa did the
traditional ‘Kagami Biraki’, also known as the sake barrel breaking ceremony;
to signify a brand new chapter for Tokyo Street. The Guests of Honour, together
with their sake cups, gave three toasts of blessings symbolizing wealth, health
and joy to Tokyo Street, the guests, tenants and shoppers.
The
celebration was followed cake cutting, it’s a large birthday cake. Plus the 15
Tokyo Street tenants also presented 15 uniquely decorated cakes.
I spotted many cute and beautifully decorated cakes including this sushi cake from Tokyo Don & Tokyo Teppan.
