Coca-Cola Collectors Fair 2014 in Malaysia

A big wow to all the Coca-Cola Collectors around the world! What began in 2010 as an informal gathering is now growing into an international event with enthusiasts from around the world coming to Malaysia this year for the annual Coca-Cola Collectors Fair at Berjaya Times Square.

This year, the Coca-Cola Collectors Fair 2014 saw the participation grow to 60 local and international collectors from Spain, Italy, USA, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand.

Since the first Malaysian gathering organized 4 years ago in conjunction with its 125^th anniversary, the Coca-Cola Collectors Fair has become a much anticipated event for enthusiastic collectors to view, buy or trade items as well as for the public to pick up interesting collectibles and memorabilia.

Visitors also enjoyed a touch of Brazilian culture at this year’s Fair, which paid tribute to the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil of which Coca-Cola is an official sponsor, with activities such as a Capoeira demonstration by mestres (masters) the martial art and their capoeiristas (practitioners of the art).

The enchanting martial art that hides it fighting elements with dancing and acrobatic movements is organised by the Embassy of Brazil who will be part of the Fair.

In addition to displaying rare and hard to find Coca-Cola branded items from their personal collections, some of which were given away as prizes throughout the day, the collectors also displayed football themed collections this year.

Visitors at the Fair were also entertained by a special 3D drawing and a giant art installation comprising of 200 painted Coca-Cola glass bottles depicting some of Malaysia iconic landmarks, flora, fauna and a blend of its many cultures created by the students of Saito College.

The event is held every year in May in to coincide with the Coca-Cola Day celebration which falls on May 8th, the date that Coca-Cola was first sold in Atlanta, Georgia in 1886. For more information about Coca-Cola Collectors Fair 2014, please visit http://www.coke.com.my
