Last September, I was on a work assignment to Hong Kong and
Southern China. It was quite a hectic 6 days field work. I traveled from Hong
Kong to Shenzhen to Dong Guan to Guangzhou and then back to Hong Kong. Almost every day I have to check in
and check out hotel. When I reached Guangzhou I decided to take a day off before I go back to Hong Kong and also that day is mooncake festival. During my off day, I managed
to go to Lot 10 Hutong Guangzhou, China to satisfy my craving for Malaysian food. That day also visited some new places around ZhuJiang (Pearl River) New City.
The Lot 10 Hutong food court is located in the new developed area called Pearl River New City. The whole area is very posh with high rise, modern shopping complexes, restaurants, cafés and many international branded stores. I took a lrt or they called in Metro in Guangzhou during off peak period at about 3pm.
When I reach there is lunch time was over so it’s more comfortable to walk around and take pictures. These are some of the outlets in Lot10 Hutong in Guangzhou.
It is quite a comfortable place to have a quick meal with air conditioning, clean toilet and also place to wash hand.

Just to compare the food prices in Guangzhou and Kuala Lumpur. I think the food price in Guangzhou is slightly higher than in Kuala Lumpur.

Yam Rice Set |
That day I order the Yam Rice Set RMB35 and also the famous Kim Lian Kee Hokkien Mee small portion is RMB22. The conversion rate is almost half, so if RM22 is about RM11. Now you know the food prices in Malaysia is still reasonable.

Hi kelly, read ur blogs... Interesting, was wondering if you got a go a good price, when you were staying at China Hotel in Guangzhou. Would appreciate if you could advise on where I could stay in Guangzhou. -frank from PJ
ReplyDeleteHi Sunshine Kelly, went to Lot 10 on Sunday 31 August 2014 and the place was basically deserted. Exited Zhu Jiang New Town MRT and walked quite a distant to reach Lot 10 Hutong Guangzhou. Had the Yam Rice set; unfortunately it comes with plain rice now perhaps due to lack of demand. There were more stalls than customers. Maybe it's a weekend. At this point in time the location maybe a factor accounting for a dearth of business. Incidentally , can I use some of your photos for my Facebook posting ? Attribution is already there as your photos are all name stamped
