Marks & Spencer Women’s Wear Autumn Winter 2013 Collection

On the same day that Marks & Spencer introduced it's M&S Brand New Look at Suria KLCC store, Marks & Spencer also unveiled its new M&S Women's Wear collections for the Autumn / Winter 2013 with a renewed focus on exceptional quality and confident style. Marks & Spencer’s standard setting ethics continue to inspire innovation and design whilst championing the heritage and core values of Marks & Spencer in perfectly edited collections.

The overarching mood for the new season is one of confident femininity, celebrating the female form in flattering fit and design whilst bringing several strong trend directions into play. 

From the elegant, retroinspired glamour of Femme Fatale to the softly androgynous, minimal tailoring of Modern Elegance the season ahead promises a fresh feel to winter dressing. 

Print and pattern take a considered direction in Wild Opulence using simple silhouettes, tonal animal prints and more refined geometrics to set a sophisticated print tone. In contrast, exquisite fabrics make the strongest style statement with an emphasis on opulent brocades, embellishment and luxe leather in Dark Drama, or the warm, brushed finish of checks, plaids and tactile knits in London Calling. This is the season to embrace texture and experiment with a more decorative approach to fabrication.

Key Trend for Autumn Winter 2013

Modern Elegance: Clean, simple, sophisticated design with a touch of masculine glamour creates a picture of modern elegance. Silhouettes take the lead from sartorial tailoring whilst maintaining a feminine sensibility in luxe fabrics and muted colours.

London Calling: Capturing the rebellious spirit of individuality, bold checks, sleek leathers and animal prints encapsulate the confidence of the modern woman in a vivid palette of red and black.

Wild Opulence: A fusion of fabrics and colour influenced by the wanderlust of global design. Tonal, luxe leathers, faux furs and elegant styling underpin the exuberance of textiles and print in this dynamic collage of textural inspiration.

Femme Fatale: Reinventing the timeless allure of the art-house heroine, nostalgic silhouettes evoke the grown-up glamour and complexity of the femme fatale, though strong colours and delicate textures that softly accentuate the female form.

Dark Drama: Sophisticatedly decadent with a richness of colour, texture and embellishment. A brooding romance informs the luxurious designs of this glamorous trend with a dramatic evening attitude.
