I was invited to OPUS Bistro @
Bangkung Row KL Restaurant Week Food Tasting, Bangsar together with some bloggers on Monday evening. Well, KL
Restaurant Week (KLRW) is a new concept that just introduced in Malaysia
recently. It is not coupon, group buy or group sell. This KLRW is a weeklong gastronomic
event will take place from 4th October to 11th October 2013 #KLFW #KLRestaurantWeek
There will be more than 45 restaurants, including fine dining
establishments helmed by renowned chefs will offer special lunch and dinner
menus during the week. Starting from RM20 nett (for a two-course lunch) and
RM50 nett (for a 3-course dinner), these often feature the restaurants’
signature or new dishes.
The cozy OPUS Bistro is located at serene Jalan Bangkung, Bangsar.
It is one of the renowned Italian Restaurant in KL. It has been serving
authentic Italian food (pork free) for about 11 years. After our dinner we
managed to meet and have a quicj chat with Chef Ariff bin Mohd Nor who has been
heading OPUS Bistro kitchen for the past 10 years. According to Chef Ariff, the
must try and famous dish is their Roasted Cod with choice of white wine sauce
or Lemon Caper Sauce.
So that evening we tasted the KLRW OPUS Bistro @ Bangkung the 3-course Lunch
and Dinner Menu.

The 1st course is the soup / salad, we get to choose either Asparagus Soup or Ceasar Salad. I preferred the creamy and warm Asparagus Soup over the Ceasar Salad. The Asparagus Soup it has more flavour and taste to it.

Grilled Minute Sirloin Steak with Black Pepper Sauce |
The main course with the choices of Linguine Zucchini & Prawn or Chicken Cacciatore or Grilled
Minute Sirloin Steak with Black Pepper Sauce. Out of the 3 choices I like the Linguine Zucchini & Prawn come with a generous amount of fresh prawn, zhucchini and tomatoes. The Chicken Cacciatore taste quite good but the chicken breast meat is slightly tuff. I do not eat beef, however some say the Grilled Minute Sirloin Steak with Black Pepper Sauce is delicious, its tender with black pepper gravy.

3rd course is the dessert. Wootz! look at this big serving of Strawberry Pannacotta. Is very soft and smooth just melt in my mouth. Yummsss... plus is not too sweet and comes is a big portion so you can satisfied your dessert craving.

For starter there is a choice of Salmon Roll with Rocket Salad or Mushroom Soup. The mushroom soup is cream, thick with mushroom flavours and texture. I would prefer the fresh Salmon Roll with Rocket Salad something more special and I like salmon.

The choice of main course is great. Here we have Sirloin Steak Mushroom Sauce or Aragosta Spaghetti or
Grilled Seabass. I love the Grilled Seabass. The marination is perfect with the minty herbs sauce and served with greens (broccoli, potatoes and carrot).

Dessert for dinner menu is also Strawberry Pannacotta.

After the dinner, we managed to meet and have a quick chat with
Chef Ariff bin Mohd Nor who has been heading OPUS Bistro kitchen for the past
10 years. According to Chef Ariff, the must try and famous dish is their Roasted

Reservations can only be made online via www.klrestaurantweek.com. A booking fee of RM 2 per seat applies. Please take note that direct reservations to the restaurants is not applicable if you would like to enjoy the KLRW special price.
