There were so many activities going on the whole day for the whole family in conjunction with the Merdeka! Merdeka! @ MaTiC. The memorable day started with the Merdeka Hunt for adults and Colouring Contest for the children in the morning at Malaysia Tourism Centre (MaTiC). I missed the morning activities however I dropped by in the evening for the 1Malaysia KL Family Fair Merdeka Celebration @ MaTiC together with a few bloggers. Even after Merdeka, you still can visit the 1Malaysia KL Family Fair because it is held every Saturday from 4pm to 11pm.

There are many things we can do such as eat, hangout, shopping for handicraft, clothes and souvenirs, car boot sales plus entertainment going on.

The food stalls selling mainly Malaysian food and beverages like char koey teow, satay, rojak, keropok lekor, yong tau foo, masakan panas, laksa, mee bandung, ice kacang and many more.

That night because of Merdeka Celebration there was Patriotic Song Singing Competition too. On a usual Saturday there will be Malaysian traditional dance performances, free training of “Cuti-cuti 1Malaysia" dance and also karaoke for everyone.

Patriotic Song Singing Competition

The area is spacious with table and chair setup facing the stage and surrounded by the food stalls. Parking is free, food price is reasonable and same as hawker stalls pricing. I browse through most of the souvenirs items and t-shirts pricing are fair. Not overprice or so called tourist price. If you have oversea guests you can bring them over. Or if you are around KL area and need a place to stop over for a break or hangout or meet friends you can swing over to 1Malaysia KL Family Fair @ MaTiC every Saturday 4pm to 11pm.
