Sakura Fair Spring Wonders of Japan at Tokyo Street



Spring begins! Flowers blooms! The first day of Spring 2013 falls on 20th March. It’s an auspicious day, that is why so many events and activities on 20th March. This season brings daylight and the rebirth of flora and fauna. By the way, on the first day of spring the number of hours of daylight and night are the same, so there are 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness, that is called Vernal Equinox.


Let’s celebrate Spring 2013, the Sakura Fair at Tokyo Street Pavilion KL from 14th until 28th March with a line-up of Japanese treats set to put the spring into the step of every Japanese lover. Sakura Fair showcases a combination of gorgeous traditional and vibrant contemporary Japanese art.


   
Sakura Fair Highlight
Highlights of the 14-day fair at the Japanese-themed retail precinct include the Sakura Fashion Collection featuring Mina Watanabe, an International Fashion Designer; The Making of Traditional Japanese Umbrella by Kotaro Nishibori, the Japanese Umbrella Specialist; and workshops conducted by renowned Japanese artist such as Mina Watanabe and Matsuhisa Gyosui, a Calligraphy Master.

There is also the Japanese Home fair providing visitor with a glimpse into how traditional Japanese craft are harnesses into contemporary living. The fair will feature Tatami furniture, fabric screens, Wagasa, and Glass Art among others.

Sakura Collection showcase - a beautiful convergence of traditional Japanese Kimono and avant-garde fashion trends created by awarding-winning students from LimKokWing University and Japan.
