SK-II First Global Beauty Blogger Workshop at St Regis Singapore

I was thrilled when I received the invitation to attend SK-II First Global Beauty Blogger Workshop at St Regis Singapore. All the arrangements and programs were top notch even the information provided were stored in this Swarovski pendrive that come with authentication cert. So this was my 3 days 2 nights journey… to see, hear and Experience the Proof of SK-II. 

Day 1, arrived at Changi Airport, Singapore on Wednesday noon... Wootz there was some one to meet us (me and Iza). We were chauffeured to our hotel, St Regis Singapore in this car… awww!

Love this boutique hotel with butler service plus is within walking distance to Orchard. On the first day, we were pretty much free and relax, after check in, we straight away head over to Orchard for lunch and shopping. I had my dinner at at The Red House Seafood Restaurant at Robertson Quay, chilli crabs of course.

Day 2, the Experience of the Proof begins with pampering session at SK-II Boutique Spa by Senze Salus at Millenia Walk Shopping Center. After a short introduction and consultation, the beautician recommended me to try their Miracle Facial for hydration. After facial, I noticed the radiance on my face and I feel so relaxed because this SK-II Boutique Spa at Millenia Walk uses Senzational Bed to enhance relaxation and Tempur therapeutic pillows for the ultimate pressure-relieving neck support. After the pampering session we had a bit of time for quick shopping then head back to the hotel and get ready for dinner.

Yay! we were on 56^th Floor at ION Orchard Tower in Salt Grill & Sky Bar by Luke Mangan. This restaurant served modern Australian cuisine and the view up here was spectacular.

Dr Kukizo Miyamoto, SK-II Principal Scientist R&D briefed us about the Akita Kagoshima Japan Epidemioogy Study. What is Akita? and Why? Akita is a prefecture in Japan famous for its beautiful women that actually has 15% less UV. Over the course of 10 years (1999 – 2011), SK-II’s team of scientists followed the skin biologies of over 100 women to understand how the skin’s bio-physics responds to ageing.

These are the 5 New Dimensions of  SK-II’s Akita study and why it matters…

1. The Source of Beauty’s True Definition

Skin results of over 600 women aged between 5 to 65 years showed women living in Akita to have significantly fewer wrinkles, spots and fairer skin compared to those from another region in the south of Japan.

2. The Effect of 10 Years

The theory that hyperpigmented spots and wrinkles increase with age isn’t all that new. But what is interesting is that SK-II scientists discovered that hyperpigmented spots visible under UV light became visible spots after 10 years.

3. Spots and Stress

Most people develop facial spots between the late 20’s to 40’s, highly stressed people measured significantly higher in the parameter of spots over time.

4. Age Isn’t Everything

Is your skin’s beauty decided by age? Not necessarily, SK-II found that the five dimensions of texture, radiance, firmness, spot control and wrinkle resilience have the highest correlation with skin’s crystal clarity, even higher than chronological age itself.

5. What to Fix for Your Age

Radiance and firmness came up as key issues for women in their teens and 20’s. For women in their 30’s and 40’s, radiance, texture and spots were the main areas for concern. And as women grow into their 50’s, texture, spots, wrinkles and firmness became the critical dimensions that differentiated between beautiful and aged skin.

This skin analysis via Magic Ring gives an overview of my current skin conditions and mapped my skin improvements in 5 Dimensions. The simulation feature showed me my improved and worsened skin conditions. This actually motivates me to take care of my skin before it gets worse. I will show you my step by step Magic Ring skin analysis after this post.

I learned the tips and tricks of SK-II products from Aum. He is so friendly and shared many helpful tips. After our counter tour, its almost time for me to go to the airport and catch my 7pm flight back to KL. Bye bye...
