Sketch and beauty look by Pat McGrath, Max
Factor Global Creative Design Director
Get The Look:
A serene, modern chic beauty
with smouldering eyes and bold, intense lashes
that pop against flawless
porcelain-like skin
The Inspiration:
Sixties style muse, Penelope Tree, and Angelica Huston
Pat’s Get the Look: Backstage at Valentino, Pat McGrath,
Max Factor Global Creative Design Director used new Max Factor Facefinity All
Day Flawless 3-in-1 Foundation, to create a flawless, high coverage yet
breathable, beautiful base. Says Pat, “we applied the foundation as you would a
moisturiser, liberally working it into the skin with the fingertips, building
it up as a primer and foundation base gradually. We then took a small brush to
focus the foundation onto areas needing more help, working it as a concealer
around the nose and under the eyes”.
Next, Pat recommends moving onto the eyes by firstly
filling in the brows using a Max Factor Eye Brow Pencil in Hazel to delicately
frame the eyes. Then line the lower and upper lashes using Max Factor Liquid
Effect Pencil in Brown Blaze.
To create the smouldering intensity across the lids, Pat
swept a cool palette of pretty greige, blending them into the socket area. “Use
Max Factor Max Colour Effect Mono Eyeshadow in Silver Dust and Earth Spirits
Eyeshadow in Pale Pebble,” says Pat. “Together they create a gorgeous flash of
grey across the eyelids. Enhance the colour near the lash line and taper the
shadow slightly outwards at the outer corners of the eyes for a smoky, delicate
finish.”
Pat then recommends contrasting soft smoky eyes with spiky
lashes, reminiscent of Penelope Tree, “layer top and bottom lashes with new Max
Factor False Lash Effect Fusion in Black. This latest mascara from the False
Lash Effect family gives bold and intense lash volume that is characteristic of
the sixties – and it lasts. Gently bed the big brush into the roots of lashes
and then sweep across the lashes.”
Add a subtle nude flush of colour to the lips using the
lighter shade end of Max Factor Colour Effect Flipstick in Folky Pink.
