Lace Up and Get Motivated! Nike We Run KL 10K 2012 Race Pack Collection Day

Friday evening I was at the Nike We Run KL 10K 2012 Race Pack Collection Tent. I reached there around 5pm, lucky that the crowd at the collection area was not that huge anymore. I heard that earlier about 12pm to 2pm was really pack and the queue was long. Managed to ask a few people and friends around there the collection was systematic and quite fast. 

Runners participating in this year’s Nike We Run 10K KL collects their race packs at a small-scale exposition held at the Piazza, the Curve (located in front of E@curve), Mutiara Damansara from 5thto 7th Oct 2012 between 10am and 9.30pm.

This year 15, 000 runners all set to take over Kuala Lumpur in Nike’s first ever evening run. During race pack collection, there are activities to engage the runners into gettting ready for the race.

Treadmill Challenge

Take on the treadmill challenge and share your Nike Mission achievement via the Nike+ Running Application on their personal facebook and twitter (#WERUN #kKL) accounts, and connecting with runners around the world.

lt is also an opportunity to trial one of this season, running shoe, the Nike Lunarglide+4 Shield. I have tried and run in it, 1 word it is fantastic! I like the cushioning, the shoes is so light plus I love the colors.

T-shirt Customization

You stand out among the 15,000 participants with t-shirt customization services available during race pack collection day. Runners who have participated and completed Nike+ Missions set on facebook and twitter – “Rock your Run”, “High miler” and “The Super Runner” - will earn badges that  can be applied onto their race t-shirts. Application of the badge is offered to all registered We Run KL 10K 2012 runners who have participated and completed the Nike+ Missions.

On the Race Day on 13^th Oct 2012, runners can expect an entertaining experience pre-race, during the race and post-race.

Race Village

Both participants and public can look forward to a high-energy evening of performances by local artistes such as Mizz Nina, SonaOne, Aarabyrd, Altimet, Ze and renowned DJs Blink and Goldfish. Food and beverage will be sold to participants of them to refuel and recharge after the run. There will also be fun photo-booths to take pictures with their friends to mark the memorable evening.

As part of nike’s commitment to developing sports at the grassroots level in Malaysia, Nike will donate to Dignity for Chidren to fund the foundation’s sports program. It is a  non-profit organization that believes that quality and holistic education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty.

Nike We Run 10K KL 2012 will flag off at 5.30pm at Jalan Ampang on 13^th October 2012, with runners finishing and celebrating at the Race Village locate at Padang Merbok, Kuala Lumpur. this is Nike’s first evening run taking place in the heart of Kuala Lumpur .

The 15,000 Malaysian runners will be part of the global We Run race movement that will expect a total of 395,500 runners from 34 cities across the globe running. lt will forge a new global community of runners through Nike’s most connected race series with innovative nike+ technology. The we run race series kicked off on September 1st in Prague, Czech republic and will conclude on December 15^th in Rio de Janiero, Brazil.
