Nike Bring Arsenal's Players to Surprise SPARQ School Winners ~ Gunners Interschool KL Challenge


Over 500 students of SMK Seksyen 11, Shah Alam, Selangor were inspired and motivated by a surprise visit from Arsenal’s players.

Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, Andre Santos, Wojciech Szczesny, Ryo Miyaichi, and Kieran Gibbs of Arsenal FC took in questions from the students to find out about their favourite heroes in this exclusive session, with the players not disappointing as they candidly shared some of their experiences and insights to living a life as a world-class footballer.

“For many years, Nike has been proud to partner Arsenal FC. Like Arsenal, we at Nike believe strongly in the development of grassroots football. Through various platforms we are constantly looking for opportunities to connect the fans with their heroes. Ultimately, we want to inspire and empower young aspiring footballers”, said Joan Yeoh, Country Marketing Manager of Nike Malaysia.




SMK Seksyen 11, Shah Alam earned the reward by winning the Nike Gunners Interschool KL Challenge after getting the highest average score and by completing the most “Make It Count” mission based on Nike SPARQ, which was organized recently.



The Nike Gunners Interschool KL Challenge is an interschool competition which pitted 20 school within the Klang valley via Nike’s training and conditioning system Nike SPARQ (Speed, Power, Agility, Reaction and Quickness) test and is one of the many platforms that highlight Nike’s commitment to developing the young football community in the country. It is a training and conditioning system that helps build better athletes and is used by some of the best football clubs in the world including Arsenal.

 In addition to earning the special visit, SMK Seksyen 11 also took home RM5,000 worth of  Nike products

The event serves to highlight Nike’s commitment to the young football community in the country. By providing an exclusive access to the Arsenal players, Nike aims to empower and to inspire young aspiring footballers to take their game to the next level and to ultimately, achieve their goals.
