SUPER GT 2012 Round 3 Race Day on Sunday & Results


It was a hot and sunny day, can you imagine the track temperature was about 47 degrees Celsius in Sepang International Circuit (SIC). Surely it tested the endurance of the drivers, their machines and fans. This is not going to stop me from SUPER GT 2012 Round 3, because Sunday is Race Day!!! I reached SIC quite early on 10th June Sunday, hmmm… around 9am.








Looks like this year SUPER GT has gained more support than last year attracted almost 80,000 fans (20,000 more than last year)

The highlight of the event was definitely SUPER GT race the fast-paced and extremely exciting.  Team No. 18 Weider Honda Racing and Team No. 33 HANKOOK KTR claim the chequered flag / grab the gold in the GT500 and GT300 classes respectively in Sepang International Circuit

 Masami Kageyama, Driver 1 and Tomonobu Fujii, Driver 2 of the Car No. 33 HANKOOK PORSCHE won Gold for GT300 class

This was the biggest motorsport event of the year, there were non-stop on-track and off-track activities. One of the highlights of the day was the second edition of the Biggest Super and Performance Car Gathering with the help of various Car Clubs and Private.

the Malaysia Book of Records, sealing a new record with 608 registered cars

Owners of these amazing vehicles from Malaysia, Singapore & Thailand, SUPER GT 2012 Round 3 Malaysia broke the record created last year in the Malaysia Book of Records, sealing a new record with 608 registered cars – 203 cars more than the previous year! Besides that, the Dragon Dance performance heightened up the mood of the gathering making it an absolute blast for everyone.


Grid Walkabout, bringing the tempo to an ultimate high and fitting atmosphere to the start of the race.




If you thought that was all, you thought wrong as there were Driver Talk Shows, GT Queens and Race Queen Appearances that made the crowd go wild, yearning for a glimpse and snap shots of these Talented drivers and gorgeous ladies.

Besides this great highlight, there was the 8,000 sq. ft. AFFIN Bank Motorshow as well, which was filled with exhibitors such as Sime Darby who brought in the magnificent Porsches, while Naza World gave a spectacular Italian racing showcase of Ferraris and Maseratis. 



The new feature this town, Akihabara town, also saw a new display of products from Cam World, AVIRA and Garmin.

All these activities created a wholesome, unforgettable event for all who came out to Sepang International Circuit for SUPER GT, and many also said they would definitely be looking forward to Round Malaysia 2013.

As the curtains closed on the Sepang Round, the SUPER GT entourage will move on to Round 4 SUGO, which is set to be on the 28th and 29th of July. Currently, Yuji Tachikawa and Kohei Hirate are leading the drivers standing in the GT500, while Kyosuke Mineo and Naoki Yokomizo are leading in the GT300. There are 6 more races to go, do not miss them.
