Olympic Announcement by ESPN STAR Sports
ESPN STAR Sports, the official broadcaster of the London 2012 Olympic Games, announced its broadcast coverage on Astro that will provide the biggest ever and most extensive coverage of the Olympic Games in Malaysia across 15 channels. By delivering round-the-clock coverage on the London 2012 Games, this summer from 27 July to 12 Aug 2012, offering Malaysians unprecedented access with more than 3,600 hours of coverage across its channels.
This includes 24-hour coverage on channels ESPN (Astro Ch 812), STAR Sports (Astro Ch 813), ESPN HD (Astro Ch 832), ESPNEWS (Astro Ch 818) during the Games, and for the first time ever, 10 dedicated high-definition ESPN STAR Sports channels covering the London 2012 Olympic Games with LIVE and first-run coverage and, also in addition showcasing key events in 3D for the very first time on ESPN STAR Sports’ 3D channel.

ESPN STAR Sports will also feature programmes, such as the morning show ‘SportsCenter Espresso’ and ‘Update at 8’ in the evenings to bring the best highlights from the London 2012 Games.
ESPN STAR Sports will line up extensive programming leading up to the Games with historical Olympic Games archive footage chronicling the last two decades, and a host of shows covering remarkable superhuman stories, inspirational tales and documentaries that will provide valuable insights to the Olympic Games.
In the lead-up to the Games, ESPN STAR Sports taps on its sports coverage expertise to broadcast a special original series called Living the Dream, which provides an in-depth look at 24 of Asia’s top athletes from six countries, including Malaysia’s best: Azizul Hasni Awang, Josiah Ng, Lee Chong Wei, Fatehah Mustapa, Khairul Anuar Mohamad.
ESPN STAR Sports secured the exclusive non-standard television rights including cable & satellite television from the International Olympic Committee for the Vancouver 2010 and London 2012 Olympic Games for 22 countries across the Indian subcontinent and South East Asia .
