Petronas Chinese New Year Photography Contest - Reimagining Energy

In conjunction with Petronas new corporate theme Reimagining Energy, Petronas is organizing a Chinese New Year Photography Contest in collaboration with Leica Camera AG.

Reimagining Energy is the spirit of resilience, energy to see opportunity, energy to go on, improve and move on while staying true to our values that we wanted to portray in our TVC. It is this same spirit that forms the core of PETRONAS’ corporate positioning, Reimagining Energy which emphasises and celebrates the resilience of the human spirit to excel in whatever we do. This energy is something that should inspire us all as we navigate through the challenges we face in life.

Petronas Reimagining Energy Chinese New Year Photography Contest runs from 17th Jan till 12th Feb 2012

Caterory Winner:

There are a total of six (6) categories (Mobile, Camera—Professionals, Camera—Amateurs, Student—School-goers, Student—University/college-goers & PETRONAS Staff). Seven (7) winners from each category will be awarded with cash prizes (refer breakdown below).

1st Prize: 1 x RM 2,000

2nd Prize: 1 x RM1,000

Consolation Prizes: 5 x RM500

Photo Of The Day Winner: A total of one (1) winner from any category will be awarded with a cash prize of RM 288 daily. Photo of the Day’ is a daily prize given to the participant who received the most number of ‘likes’ by PETRONAS Facebook page’s fans for his/her submission. Only photographs that are submitted on that particular day are open for voting and eligible to win.

An exhibition of the work of the winners will be held at the Galeri PETRONAS, Suria KLCC, Kuala Lumpur.

Its time to let your imagination soar and your photography skill roar this season. To participate, all you have to do is to capture Chinese New Year moments that best depict the spirit of Reimagining Energy and submit your photographs at Petronas Nasional Berhad (Petronas) Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/petronas1) and stand a chance to win big ‘Ang Pows’ from Petronas.

Energy  is everywhere, in everything we do, and especially at this time. It could be the excitement and the bonding during the reunion dinner, or it could be the hustle and bustle of shopping for and decorating the home. It could even be a portrait of the wise grandfather of the family, or a picture of the lanterns that light up our cities.

Step 4: Click Joining Instruction 

Read the instructions and submission requirements carefully

Participants must register Name as per IC, IC Number and Contact Number before submitting their entries. For university/college-goers or school-goers category, participants must provide the institution’s name. For PETRONAS staff category, participants must provide their Staff ID, OPU and Location Details. Photographs submitted will be approved daily from 9.00 am onwards. Photograph submissions must be in JPEG format.

Each submission must be a minimum file size of:

2 megapixel – For photographs taken with phone camera or tablet camera

5 megapixel – For photographs taken with digital camera: minimum- 5 megapixel

5 megapixel – For film scanned photograph taken with 35 film camera/ Advanced Photo System (APS) camera

Participants must send the higher resolution file within 3 days after their submissions are approved to: petronascny2012@gmail.com based on the stipulated resolution guidelines to qualify for the final exhibition.

Now, let’s take a look at these heart warming and inspiring Petronas Coming Home Chinese New Year TVC. The TVC this year depicts six separate yet intertwining stories of individuals around the world, who, no matter how far they have come in life, stay true to their roots and tradition. The TVC was shot in few locations in Malaysia, England, Belgium, China and India.
