New Malaysia! My Experience During Malaysia 14th General Election 2018 |
I am going to begin with my
journey back to my hometown the night before election day. I took a night
express coach back to Penang on 8th of May at 1030pm from Hentian
Duta. Usually the journey would take about 5 hours to reach Penang Island but
that day there was massive jam because a lot of people were going back to vote. Guess what… I reached Sungai Nibong Bus Station around 530am. Omg… 7 hours
journey, anyway when I reached Penang I so ber-semangat.

I started to queue at 7am... kiasu or not??? |
My dad was waiting for me at the bus station since 5am. I went back took a quick shower, changed and we went out for breakfast before heading to our voting location. The kiasu sunshine was at SMK Kong Min 2 (Paya Terubung) at 7am, initially I thought I would be the first few but when I reach there wah! the queue already started.

Glad that everything
went smoothly that day. I completed mine around 845am and walked out of the
school feeling so proud that I did my part for the country. Then I went home
rest for a while and decided to head over to the bus station to try my luck if
I can catch an earlier bus back to KL.
|
So co-incident I met Pamela, we were on the same coach back to KL |
Great! I managed to
get the 11am coach back to KL on the same day. I reached KL at around 4pm. I rushed
home, packed and head over to the airport because we took a midnight flight Perth
on that day. A few days before the election, we decided to go to Perth for a
short vacation after the election, it’s quite rush for me huh.

Waiting for my flight to Perth, my eyes are glued to my laptop consistently following the GE14 results |
The first thing when
I arrived Perth Airport I need wifi! I am glad that I had Roaming Man pocket
wifi with me. Omg… I got the best news ever! Yes PH wins, we Malaysians did it!
I cried… I don’t know how to explain that feeling. Its happy tears. Well, during
my whole trip I keep checking Malaysia news, there were some dramas and
hiccups. I actually stayed up quite late on the 10th to go through
each and every of my whatsapp message, websites, facebook and etc. Never in my
life I felt so kan cheong (excited) for my country, which was a good sign.

Rejoiced! This shot was taken at London Court Street n Perth CBD on the 1st evening I arrived Perth |
