Recently I had a
chance to meet-up and had brunch with some of the bloggers in Johor
Bahru (JB). I am glad that Guardian Malaysia organized this mini get together in
conjunction with Guardian Knockdown Prices and Guardian Gaya Squad roll-out
campaign at People & Places Café. Well, it has been a while since my last
visit to JB, I think at least more than 3 years and now JB has evolved becoming
a vibrant and bustling city with new malls, hipster cafes and restaurants,
secured housing communities, and amenities too.

it was a mini casual gathering with 5 beautiful bloggers; Kim Tan @belovebaobei,
Jia Ying @addictedjiajia, Sin Yee @princessneverland, Sherlyn @sherlynshixian,
and Cece @cctt together with Farah from Guardian Malaysia and also Bee that
helped to arrange and coordinate this gathering. Thanks gals.

I love this People & Places Café in Johor Bahru |
The moment I
entered into this People & Places Café, I was wow! From the outside it
looks normal, just like any industrial warehouse boxy building. But inside I
tell you, it’s decorated with lots of
lush greenery, woody furniture, and some random bits & pieces décors.
Quesadilla Breakkie one of their best seller and my favourite too |
This
café is tastefully decorated, surrounded by uplifting music, food is good and unique,
and the people there are cheerful.
Farah and Sin Yee, the winner for 2nd round Challenge |
The session started
with Farah introducing the Guardian Knockdown Prices and its weekly knockdown
prices items every Friday to Sunday at all Guardian stores and online. If you
missed out this the last week knowdown price items, do check out Guardian
Malaysia Facebook Page for their updates.

Although it was just a 2 hours gathering and brunch but we had lots of fun, experience sharing, engaging activities, 2 rounds of challenges and not to mention the food, all of them were so good.

Here are some of my tips for inspiring instagram flatlay
1. Lighting is everything ~ natural light is still the best.
2. Theme ~ focus on one theme at a time, be it lifestyle, fashion, beauty, food or etc.
3. Background ~ simple is always good, the will be subject more prominent.
4. Prop ~ add some props to make it more personal.
5. Tell a story ~ a photo is worth a thousand words, try to create a story out of it.
How to create and engaging captions or instagram post
1. Use your own words and voice, something that relate to you.
2. Check the facts and information first.
3. Share something that can add value, motivate or inspire your followers.
4. Be consistent, positive and share the good vibes.
5. Call to action, create questions or situations for the followers to give their feedback.

I wish everyone had fun and learn from each other. Many thanks to Guardian Malaysia for organizing this and I hope to have more gathering sessions like this where we, bloggers can share and learn from each other. Never stop learning because the world is changing everyday and we have to evolve too.
