Yuhuuu! We tried the Hong Kong First Ever Virtual Reality Roller Coaster, Mine Train presented by Samsung Gear VR with cutting edge technology to deliver even more exciting and enhanced sensory experience. This is one of main attractions for Ocean Park Christmas Sensation 2017 with park-wide festivities and Park’s 40th anniversary celebrations.

This was my first-ever experience riding on a rollercoaster with VR on. The thrills are definitely many more folds than the usual rollercoaster rides. It was a totally different experience compared to the normal roller coaster ride that I have tried. The stunning VR experience synchronizes virtual movement to real motion. Two thumbs up to the VR rollercoaster Mine Train experience!

My First Experience Riding Virtual Reality Rollercoaster, Mine Train presented by Samsung Gear VR at Ocean Park Hong Kong

After putting on Samsung Gear VR headset, buckled up and ready to go! In front of me was a stunning and ultra-realistic journey in the Amazon rainforest through the vivid screen of GALAXY smartphones that synchronizes virtual movement to real motion. Equipped with a 101-degree field of view, Gear VR allows guests to enjoy the 360-degree video in the first-person view. By the way, there is also a technology of VR in construction industry too.

The sudden drop diving into the deep sea, as the rollercoaster dashes down in high-speed (abt 71km/hr)

Then the thrills begin with the rollercoaster speed, and the surroundings. We traveled into the natural environment of the rich biodiversity of the Amazon rainforest, and come face-to-face with a green anaconda, three-toed sloth, jaguar, and a lot more amazing animals. Through this, we also get to know more about the habitats of many unique species and learn about the importance of conservation.

And then there was a sudden drop diving into the deep sea, as the rollercoaster dashes down at high speed (abt 71km/hr). I can feel the impact… at that point in time, my heart skipped a beat, just let it go and fly. Throughout the ride, I was screaming but I had lots of fun up there.
