Well, QiGong
is an ancient Chinese health care system that integrates physical postures,
breathing techniques and focused intention. Qigong is an energy arts exercise,
the word QiGong (Chi Kung) is made up of two Chinese words. Qi is pronounced
chi and is usually translated to mean the life force or vital-energy that flows
through all things in the universe.

The
second word, Gong, pronounced Kung, means accomplishment, or skill that is
cultivated through steady practice. Together, QiGong (Chi Kung) means
cultivating energy, it is a system practiced for health maintenance, healing
and increasing vitality.
QiGong exercise focus on breathing, |
The key
for QiGong exercise is to focus on our breathing, which is Qi. We all have Qi
and Qi is all around us. I attended Mirjana Malignon’s QiFlow class few weeks
ago. She has been an energy practitioner since 1987 and known for her mastery
of Tai Ji Quan, Qigong and Reiki healing practices. Also one to prioritize physical
wellbeing, she is also a follower of Raja Yoga.
The class started with some basic knowledge and fundamentals about MiQi Energy Medicine |
We
kicked start the class with some basic knowledge and fundamentals about MiQi
Energy Medicine and how this simple breathing exercise could help to reduce our
stress, promote good QiFlow and harmonize our body, mind and soul.
Mirjana Malignon demonstrating some easy to practice ideas |
In the
nutshell, MiQi Energy Medicine is a modern way of understanding and using Qi
enhancing tools for a healthy and harmonious life. It combines medical QiGong,
Tai Ji Quan, Yoga, Meditation and the LOA techniques (Law of Attraction) in a
format that is easy to remember, easy to do and gives quick results. We only
perform the movement that we feel comfortable and within our natural physical
limits.
There
are 3 levels of QiFlow courses in order to gradually understand and integrate the
subtle knowledge Qi Energies. I am now only at the basic of level 1. According
to Mirjana we can practice QiGong anywhere and everywhere, even when we are
stuck in the traffic jam, we can do the breathing exercise and simple steps to
reduce our stress.
With
regular practice even as short as 5 minutes a day we can be more supple, toned
and energetic. Therefore QiGong is flexible and suits our busy lifestyle, it’s
the kind of exercise that we can practice in any environment and anytime. But
if we have more time of course it would be more beneficial of we could complete
a 60 minutes QiGong exercise.
After the
QiGong class, I continue to practice the simple steps at home, work and even in
my car. Learning the right technique of breathing is very important because will
regulate the oxygen and blood flow in our body. Overall after the QiGong class
I felt very happy and calm. Besides, I can focus better and my energy improves
because more oxygen or QI in me.
