Hey! I prefer to use compact camera
than the bulky and heavy DSLR. I like it because it’s light, small and handy
but not all compact cameras take good quality pictures. Recently I have a
chance to review the newly launched Samsung NX Mini Smart Camera. This is the
slimmest (depth 22.5mm) and lightest (weight 158g) interchangeable lens camera
till today. Awesome! Last Saturday was my
first attempt playing and using the NX Mini Smart Camera during the Photo Marathon
Challenge.
About 30 bloggers gathered at the Jeneris Café @ Nu Sentral, KL
Sentral and collected our NX Mini review unit.
We had a quick breakfast and
then followed by the product briefing before we depart for the Photo Marathon Challenge.
at KL Sentral LRT Station |
My first impression on the NX
Mini, yes indeed is it very light. I can easily carry and stabilize while
taking pictures with just 1 hand. The NX Mini size just fit nicely on my palm.
The colour that everyone got that day is white, quite cool and stylish. What I like
about this camera is the 3.0 inch flip up and touch display that rotates 180
degrees and wide angle lens that is perfect for selfie.

After the briefing we were split into 3 groups according to the theme Sound & Sights, Gastronomic Delights and Malaysia Historical Buildings. Guess what is my theme? My theme for that day was Malaysia Historical Buildings and Alicia Tan was my partner for this photo marathon. We were all set and geared to go for the NX Mini Photo Marathon Challenge.
All of us took LRT to Pasar Seni, then we walk around Central Market, Kasturi Walk, Petaling Street for the Photo Marathon Challenge.

This is the camera that I find
perfect for people constantly on the go at the same time need to take good
quality pictures plus shared it immediately on social media. It is so small
that I can slip into my pocket and take it anywhere and everywhere without
sacrificing the image quality. The large 1-inch type 20.5MP BSI CMOS Sensor captured
vivid, sharp and crisp clear images.
Transferring pictures from NX Mini to smart phone or tablet and then select our pictures to post on social media. |
After an hour of photo shooting
around Pasar Seni and Petaling Street we took LRT to Avenue K.
Lunch: Grilled Chicken Sandwich @ Johnny Rocket’s, Avenue K |
Finally when we
reached Johnny Rocket’s for lunch, I can take a break and post my pictures on Instagram
and Facebook. Thanks to the WiFi and NFC intergration that I can transferred
all the photos from NX Mini to my smart phone using the Samsung Smart Camera App and Tag & Go. You can find our picture on Instagram and Facebook with #myNXmini #myNXminiMarathon
Congratulation to Kifli Mally, the winner of the Photo Marathon Challenge |
Overall, I had a good time that
day not only discovering the Colours of Malaysia through our historical
building, food, people and also culture; but also impressed with the new NX
Mini Smart Camera that can to capture special life moments so vividly and real plus
taking selfie is so much fun now. I will be posting more reviews about the NX Mini soon, so do check out my upcoming blog post and keep an eye here. Thanks to Manoah and Samsung Malaysia.
