Samsung Fourth South East Asia, Oceania and Taiwan Forum 2013 Discover the World of Possibilities |
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd unveiled new products and
services at the Samsung South East Asia, Oceania and Taiwan Forum 2013 in Jakarta . Through its
understanding and insight of what consumers need in the region, Samsung’s 2013
lineup of products demonstrates the company’s commitment to Asia
and its vision where technology enables consumers to discover a world of
possibilities.
In 2012, Samsung Electronics achieved record sales of
approximately $187 billion. In South East Asia, Oceania and Taiwan , the
company achieved 63 percent revenue growth in 2012 and retained its number one
position in TVs, monitors, and refrigerators. Samsung also built on the
momentum and retained its leadership as the number one brand for mobile phones
and smartphones.
Delivering on this promise, Samsung unveiled a new
paradigm in television, smart appliances, connected cameras and mobile devices.
Sharing innovations from different areas of its business, Samsung has
reinvigorated the consumer electronics market with seamless navigation,
intuitive control and personalized user experiences.
Creating the
Ultimate Lean Back Experience
In 2012, Samsung demonstrated leadership across all of its
categories, including the TV market. The company achieved 16 percent growth in
revenue and 14 percent growth in unit sales in the total regional TV market
last year. Following this success, Samsung is opening a new world of
possibilities in home entertainment this year.
Leading its charge to deliver the ultimate lean back
experience to consumers in the region, Samsung launched its flagship F8000 LED
TV, the first Samsung television to feature a quad-core processor. Available in
sizes up to 75-inches, the F8000 features an ultra-thin profile, a quarter-inch
thick bezel and a wave inspired Arc stand that makes the TV look as if it is
simply floating in the air.
Samsung also introduced its first 85-inch Ultra High
Definition TV (UHD TV), the 85S9. The 85S9’s stunning Timeless Gallery design
sets a new standard for TV craftsmanship, with the TV appearing to float within
its frame and juxtaposing its classic minimalism with the imposing 85-inch
display.
The design is aesthetically pleasing while functional: the
85S9 includes Samsung’s “One Connect” feature that eliminates cable clutter by
requiring only one cable to connect to the TV, creating a perfect Clean Back
look.
The 85S9 offers the resolution of Full HD displays to
deliver unmatched picture detail and clarity. It can also up-convert HD content
to Full HD and UHD resolution, offering a new world of viewing experiences. In
addition, Samsung is addressing the current conflicting UHD content industry
standards to ease purchasing concerns and to ensure that users will be able to
view UHD content for years to come.
Samsung is also the first TV brand to offer support for
the new high compression video codec, HEVC, which delivers higher streaming
video quality over lower bandwidth so content will consistently look amazing. Finally,
to deliver an audio performance to match the screen excellence of this year’s
new TVs, Samsung introduced the HT-F9750W.
The HT-F9750W is Samsung’s flagship 7.1 channel home
theater system that is the perfect companion to its 2013 Smart TVs. The system
features a 1,330-watt sound system for unprecedented sound quality and
exceptional viewing experience, and it is powered by Samsung’s Gallium Nitride
amplifier and vacuum tube amplifier to create a pure, natural sound.
Additionally, HD content can be up-scaled to UHD picture quality, thanks to
Samsung’s 4K Scaler Processor.
Introducing the next
Evolution in Televisions
Each of Samsung’s newest televisions provides a new world
of possibilities in search, navigation and control. Samsung’s newly redesigned
Smart Hub intelligently organizes a viewer’s content into clear, intuitive
panels. The three panels include: Apps; Photos, Videos and Music; and Social. Navigating
these three Smart Hub panels is easier than ever before, thanks to enhanced
Smart Interaction.
In 2012, Samsung pioneered motion and voice controls to
navigate the TV. In 2013, these control capabilities have been enhanced. For
example, not only can consumers now use their hands to select content, they can
now rotate images, or simply zoom in and out. Voice controls were also enhanced, with 2013
Smart TV models understanding about 300 commands with improved language
recognition rates.
Drawing on Samsung’s mobile leadership, the navigation
experience is reminiscent of that found on its smartphones. Samsung’s
S-Recommendation with Voice Interaction technology—available in select markets
such as Australia —is
a personal guide to discovering new and preferred content on Samsung Smart TVs.
In fact, the new landing screen on Samsung’s 2013 Smart TV
features On TV, the world’s first TV service to analyze on-air viewing habits
and offer personalized program suggestions in real-time, enabling users to
enjoy the ultimate lean-back experience. On TV is currently only available in
the Australian market.
Samsung’s improved Voice Interaction technology will
change what people think is possible from a television; it is now capable of
understanding full sentences and natural language. Coupled with
S-Recommendation, viewers can ask the Smart TV for movie and TV show
suggestions or request films that feature specific actors or actresses.
Searches aggregate relevant results from all available on-air or app services.
This advanced user experience has been expanded to
smartphones and tablets, thanks to Samsung’s leadership in connectivity.
Viewers can use their devices as a remote control or simultaneously enjoy two
different pieces of content from a TV or Blu-ray player on a second screen.
They can also mirror their Smart TV content on a tablet to take it with them
around the home.
Additionally, Samsung delivered on its 2012 CES promise of
bringing the next evolution of TVs with the introduction of its 2013 Evolution
Kit. By simply adding the Evolution Kit to a Samsung Smart TV, users can have
access to the latest Samsung Smart TV offerings. Owners of compatible TVs will
be able to benefit from S-Recommendation with Voice Interaction, the new Smart
Hub, as well as the quad core support of the 2013 range.

built-in rollers around the drum to create a multi-directional washing flow
resulting in cleaner clothes. In addition, the Wobble washer incorporates
Samsung’s innovative Digital Inverter Motor (DIM), advanced technology that
contributes to long-lasting durability and extends the washer’s lifetime. The
DIM, with a guaranteed 11-year warranty for consumers in South
East Asia , is brushless and contains minimal moving parts, meaning
there is less chance of parts wearing out or breaking, leading to a longer
lifespan.
To enable expert cooking capabilities to consumers,
Samsung’s Smart Oven (MC32F606) features smart sensor technology, respectively.
The appliance was built to help consumers save storage space in the kitchen, as
well as save time and effort when preparing healthy, tasty meals.
To round things up, Samsung’s NaviBot CornerClean

speed and 8.6fps continuous shooting mode ensures every moment is captured
